At St. Mary of the Lake, we offer many opportunities to celebrate our faith as a community through events held throughout the year. For a description of volunteer duties, click on the volunteer brochure on the left.

Funeral Luncheon ** Due to Covid-19 concerns and restrictions, St. Mary of the Lake will not serve funeral luncheons until the time when it is safe to do so. We are temporarily suspending our funeral luncheons and look forward to being able to once again provide this hospitality.** This committee provides for and arranges the luncheons for funerals held at St. Mary's. Volunteers prepare or provide food dishes, setup, serve and cleanup after the luncheons. If you are a good cook and/or have time to help with setup, serving and cleanup, this ministry provides much comfort for family members and friends. Kitchen The parish kitchen is used heavily and is in constant need of cleaning and straightening. We maintain a list of people who are willing to launder and iron table cloths after parish dinners.
Maintenance Parishioners are invited to help with both indoor and outdoor projects at an Annual Spring Work Day, usually held on a Saturday in May. Regular volunteers are welcome throughout the year to help with ongoing projects: dusting the church, maintaining flower gardens in the summer, fall garden cleanup, washing windows, trimming bushes, etc. The parish maintains a list of people who are willing to be called to help with other occasional projects.
Parish Office The parish office occasionally needs computer assistance or website assistance. Artists are occasionally needed for preparation of brochures.
Annual Blood Drive We hold at least two joint Blood Drives at St. Mary’s each year with Oak Knoll Lutheran Church, generally July and October. Sign up occurs after liturgies several weekends prior to the date.
