With lengthening our Wednesday Faith Formation sessions by 30 minutes, we have decided that First Grade should be a part of our Sunday School Program. Please see below for more information:
Class sizes will be limited to 25 students with three volunteer catechists, for ages kindergarten and 1st grade.
We ask that at least one parent or guardian complete our VIRTUS training, so that you are able to assist in the classroom or help during our Children's Liturgy of the Word (starting this Fall!). Please click here for the training link! Thank you for your loving commitment to our children!
If your child is ill or will be absent, please click HERE to email Faith Formation of the absence:
Children's Liturgy of the Word gathers our young children ages 3-2nd Grade for an age appropriate experience of the Sacred Scripture.
During our 9:15 AM mass, on the weeks we have Sunday School, we will have our CLW. Father Zipp will give a blessing to all of our little ones before the first reading, and two volunteers will escort our children to the Faith Formation hallway, where they will join our Sunday School classes for a community liturgy lead by our Sunday School catechists. The children will then be lead back to their parents in the church during the Profession of Faith. Please send your information here if you would like to help!
Volunteers are at the heart of our Faith Formation programs!
It takes many volunteers in a variety of roles to make St. Mary's Faith Formation programs GREAT! Grandparents, parents, high school students, and parishioners with a love of their faith; everyone is invited to become involved. Opportunities include teaching and assisting in the classrooms, being hall monitors, helping out with our special events, and many other roles. If you are interested in helping in any capacity, please contact Bette Wolf the Faith Formation, Youth & Volunteer Office. There is an interview process, and for the safety and care of our children, a background check, agreeing to a volunteer code of conduct, and participating in an Archdiocesan VIRTUS class are required for volunteer opportunities.
