The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is designed for adults who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. RCIA is the ancient practice of the Church, reintroduced to us by Vatican II, where adults wishing to become fully Catholic take part in a meaningful spiritual journey. Here at St. Mary’s, parish members will join those seeking these initiation sacraments, as the presentation of our faith is the responsibility of all in our church.
RCIA at St. Mary’s will begins in October, on Monday evenings, and culminates at the Easter Vigil, where the initiation sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist are celebrated, and where adults declare their conscious choice to become full members of the Catholic Church. It is a thoughtful time to grow in faith as a group, opening the scriptures, opening our catechisms, opening ourselves to the church’s teachings and life. Join us if you are someone seeking Baptism, Confirmation or Holy Eucharist, and full communion into the Catholic Church.
Or, you are also most welcome to join our group if you are already a practicing Catholic but wish to have a renewal in your Catholic spirituality and faith and want to journey with our group.
