"Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples." (Luke 11:1)
Personal prayer should include some quiet time for silent prayer, as well as prayer with Scripture.
"The real 'work' of prayer is to become silent and listen to the voice that says good things about me. To gently push aside and silence the many voices that question my goodness and to trust that I will hear the voice of blessing-- that demands real effort.”
Henri J.M. Nouwen, Life of the Beloved: Spiritual Living in a Secular World
The Catholic Church is a group of broken, sinful disciples striving to do better. It is a community of faith-filled disciples who pray for, nurture and support each other in life's ups and downs.
Perhaps you've drifted away from the Church or stopped coming on a regular basis. It doesn't really matter how old you are, how long you've been away, or for what reason, you can always reclaim your Catholic Faith.
"And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God" (Colossians 1:9-10).
