Our Family Of Faith

Introducing our new model of Catechesis A Family of Faith - Catechesis for the Whole Family by Sophia Institute Press.  As per Archbishop Hebda's Pastoral Letter on the education of our children in the Faith, we are adopting this new curriculum model to equip parents and to walk with them in the formation of their children. 

Family classes are on the first Sunday of the month after the 9:15 AM mass. The first Family of Faith session is on Sunday, September 8, and will continue to meet on the first Sunday of the month, October through May.  Sacrament students, then will meet on the first Sunday of the month for Family Formation, and then on the second Tuesday night of the month for emphasis on the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist or Confirmation.*

Each session will consist of fellowship, home lesson instruction with parents, while students have classroom instruction with their peers.  Parents will also have the opportunity to partake in some great talks and exercises by guest speakers!

28.  Parents as Primary Educators (Cited from the Pastoral Letter)     

*Form and inspire parents to understand and fulfill their responsibility as the first teachers of   their children in the ways of faith.      
• Provide groups for parents to encounter Jesus, be formed in the faith and support  one another in their responsibility to pass on the faith and help their children grow  in holiness.      • Equip parents with age-appropriate dynamic resources to share with their children.    (Topics include Bible stories, scripture, and the lives of the saints.)   
 • Encourage faith formation catechists and Catholic school teachers to see themselves as co-workers with parents.    
 • Provide accompaniment to young parents, showing them how to integrate Catholic    culture in daily family life.



*Our Family Faith Sundays are in lieu of Wednesday Night classes. There will be no classes held on Wednesdays nights.
